After we were left nearly weeping at the end of Season 2 with that poisonous kiss and fatal line, a question is begged: What if Aziraphale never had to leave?
In this AU, everything changes after Aziraphale cries, “I need you!” to his beloved Crowley. Crowley doesn’t follow into Heaven, of course, but he still wasn’t willing to give up his angel that easily, even as he slipped through scaly fingers. Crowley proposes that Aziraphale splits his time, and so they try to make it work. It does!
But things go a tad sideways when Aziraphale begins to get too stressed with his new job as Supreme Archangel. Maybe this is why Gabriel hadn’t formed any connections for the longest time… No matter what --- yes, no matter what --- Crowley’s still trying her very hardest to make sure Aziraphale gets the treatment he deserves, even when she’s worried out of her mind.
Follow this duo in love as Aziraphale navigates his work-life balance and as little complications arise in Crowley’s life as well. Wonder what Metatron’s up to…

“You’re bruised up badly,” the soft, blonde knight said with concern in his tone. “I thought it was just from whatever wiles you get up to in that ridiculous Black Knight armour of yours, but… Crowley, is that blood?!”
A tentative finger dabbed at something wet on Crowley’s forehead, who immediately decided that being held was definitely not nice and he didn’t like it at all. Nuh-uh. “OUCH! Who is Crowley?” he hissed through the pain.
“You are!” The knight was starting to sound panicky.
“Oh,” Crowley answered. He needed to let that sink in for a second. ‘Crowley’. He didn’t remember being called Crowley. Surely he’d remember that, right? “That doesn’t sound very angelic, does it?”
“It-,” the knight cut himself off while something akin to horror flashed over his features. “Why would it sound angelic, Crowley?!”
Aziraphale finds Crowley injured and trying to head home. The problem is that ‘home’, according to a confused Crowley who seems under the frightful belief that he is still an angel, is Heaven. So Aziraphale tries to keep Crowley safe on Earth while they jog his memory.

The first time seeing Crowley in four years, after becoming the Supreme Archangel of Heaven, Aziraphale is forced to witness the Metatron first torture, then triumphantly turn Crowley over to Satan, who turns up in-person to take possession of his wayward tempter. Satan has permanent plans for Crowley to make him forever Hell's. Those plans include payment for his betrayal of Hell, with Satan himself in his blackstone room - the space where Crowley has been only twice before, yet where his deepest nightmares, and longest screams reside.
Meanwhile, Aziraphale discovers an ever increasing pit of corruption in Heaven where nothing is as it seems - Archangels are missing that no one remembers even exist, and Heaven itself has been changed without anyone seeming to notice. All to cement the Metatron's control and achieve his vision. The Metatron didn't count on Crowley upending Hell in the process of surviving, or Aziraphale Clue-ing out everything he wasn't supposed to, while trying to get his demon back..... Oh well.... Too bad for him…

Crowley and Aziraphale have settled into a nice life, splitting themselves between the bookshop and their new cottage in the South Downs. They enjoy freedom from worry about interference from Heaven and Hell. After thousands and thousands of years of mutual pining, these two idiots have finally made out and learned how to give themselves absolute pleasure. They spend a lot of time connecting carnally. Crowley takes a new effort out for a spin and within a few weeks, they realize that ALL of Crowley's female-presenting reproductive anatomy is actually in place, leading to two positive lines on a pregnancy test. Lots of sex, lots of domestic fluff, and a bunch of pregnancy shenanigans ensue.
