Many years ago in Bee Cave, Dell Conagher witnesses his father Fred Conagher replacing his friend's eyes and copies the blueprints in a fit of curiosity.
Many years later in the deserts of New Mexico, working with Builder's League United, the Engineer sees his team struggling against the RED team, and thinks of an easy solution to the issue of the RED Spy.
After all, an arm was simple enough to replace. What harm could a pair of eyes do?

It was a cold day in the submarine where the Classic Heavy stayed with his deceased teammates. With his last living teammate in his arms, he ruminated over what happened hours ago.
He and the gang were hired by Gray Mann to hunt down the Administrator's best mercenary groups. Echelon, Citadel, Team Ajax, for God's sake. They were able to kill them, even when they were missing their medic.
But the one time they did hire a new medic, they lost.
It's even worse when said medic was part of the team that killed everyone except him and his true medic.

One of them just so happened to be the team's leading engineer. Reuniting back with his childhood friend and family rival, Brigitte Lindholm. Though unfortunately, the two had started getting a bit friendly together.
So, when the elders of their families (two of them being rivals in the arms industry for a few decades by that point) decided to settle this conversation during a small brief moment they had peace, the two of them were scared shitless.

Summary
Halloween, 1972. Three months after the showdown between Team Fortress and Team Fortress Classic at Gray Gravel Co., the RED and BLU teams are set to complete their final contract, given to them directly by the Administrator. The mission: Locate The Philosopher's Stone within Merasmus' library and deliver it to her. A simple mission that should have been done by morning, but disaster strikes when the mercenaries accidentally unleash a monster from one of Merasmus' books - The Shadow Blight, an eldritch abomination from another world.
The teams are scattered across the globe by this foul creature and Heavy and Medic are left stranded at Gray Gravel Co., where they find themselves in the midst of an apocalypse. With no allies to turn to and the Shadow Blight looming large, the two men try to gather their resources when a familiar foe finds them.
The Classic Heavy is somehow alive, and they quickly realize that they have no choice but to work together to survive. They don't know what lies ahead of them as the Shadow Blight ravages the world, but they must stay strong.
But they are not on their own; a strange masked man from C. Heavy's past joins them on their journey - The Classic Medic.
