Orion glanced up from his cutting board to the corner of his eyes to where Granson stood. He was properly far away, leaving the ample space demanded by Orion early on when he first started staying over. Kitchens were for cooking not for cuddling. A rule best followed by any unless they wanted Orion himself simmering on medium to high heat.
Peeling another peach carefully, he knocked his head to the side as if he could actually direct Granson to the answer. "Vendor brought a case and a half to the stairs and Glynard told me to make use of them. So, I am."
Orion gets several sweet surprises at once.

It is a scene Granson was certain would never arrive, yet here and now, it has. Orion is knelt before him, panting out in weakened breath as his skin grows paler by the second. Sun beats down on them both, light again poured out into it yet there is no warmth on his shoulders. There is only a cold, sinking feeling and a churn of nausea he can barely keep down in his stomach.
The promise rings out in his ears, heavy and resounding like a gong beat over and over: You leave this world yourself, Rho. You leave me as you.
Granson fulfills a promise.

It was not uncommon, this.
Orion, awake at the wee hours of a day long turned to night, head laid on a pillow across from another that was asleep. The only difference being that this time, this person, felt different to him. Not in any one good or bad way, but at the moment, the lingering in that middle was making his stomach toss like rough seas.
Granson didn't know the truth of him. A truth Orion was encouraged not to give as it may do more harm than good to break the constraints of the known universe for the average person. When the Exarch gave him this heeded warning, he had brushed it off with ease. Who would he tell, after all. Who couldn't he lie to?
A soft breath from Granson's nose grew a little louder in its inhale, snore only a fraction of what the man could be capable of, and Orion felt the question hammer into the back of his skull. If he could lie to Granson, he could lie to anyone. The trouble was that it was the last thing he wanted to do.
Orion tells Granson where he's from.

It wasn't a guise to return to the First so soon after departing it—not in totality, at least.
After all, things were not yet remedied in the empty nor with Gaia herself. There was worry there, underlying against the other work clearly waiting on the Source due to the Telophoroi's touch, and Orion was managing it best he could. It could be said then that what he was presently concerned with should not have been on his mind at all. A gift of sorts—if one reduced its definition to a distilled point more bitter than the highest grade of alcohol—was his current focus and would remain his focus until the new owner could claim it as his possession.
Orion gives Granson a piece of himself.

Summary
A soft knock rang out on the door and his attention flicked to it with a drop of his tail between his legs.
"Please," He muttered as he walked toward it, "Do not fucking call me into the field right now or I swear by Llymlaen's spear…"
Upon opening the door, Orion found himself faced with a sight he both did and didn't recognize. Granson stood before him, his own clothing changed in kind into a white shirt laced up just so at the neck with dark pants and boots to suit. It was—for a man born in the farmlands near the coast—as fancy as fancy got for him, Orion knew.
Something about the equivalent effort on top of being sought out rather than met up with made him hold the door a little tighter before he spoke. "You're early."
Orion and Granson have the first of (hopefully) many dates.

"Hey—hey, we'll go back, alright? We'll get Anzu on it and everything will be fine," Granson urged, words stumbling out of his mouth as he looked over the wound. Orion's hand was pressed tightly on it, eyes wound shut in what looked like concentration. "Let me see it, will you? Come on, just a second."
Orion shook his head, huffing out a breath he had been holding. "No need for that."
"Come on, I'll let you keep the pressure on it, I'm just worried about—"
"It's not there anymore," Orion said in a tone so empty that it made Granson's hair stand up on his neck.
Orion reveals something unseen.

"When else does anyone have the chance to have people pick out shapes for stars other than when they're a child? This is a rare occurrence we've got, sinner," He replied, tail thumping on the ground as the joy in the thought touched deeper.
"So, you're calling it childish?"
"So, you're taking that as an insult?" Orion quipped back. His eyes lulled and curled his mouth on one edge in a smirk. "Not all things that make us children are bad. I'd argue the opposite."
"I'm sure you would…" Granson muttered and smiled when Orion's tail took a pointed flick in his direction. "So, you want me to do what exactly? Pick one out and name it?"
"That I do."

Now they make their way to Sharlayan in a bid to try and find answers and hopefully bring peace to the world once more.
