Summary
There will be super sensitive chapters and trauma. This is basically a trigger warning for the entire book. I cannot be bothered to put trigger warnings at the start of the chapters, it's just my writing style and preference. If that bothers you, don't read it, simple as that.
After losing his girlfriend while he was stationed, John came home to his best mate Paul. John didn't realise how emotionally attached he was to Paul, until he started getting used to the affection and attention they would give each other. John tried to suppress his feelings towards Paul, but one day, that all changes. After John get's stationed again, things turn for the worst, leaving John an empty shell for a while, until he discovers what love is again, and rekindles his relationship with Paul.

Summary
I've had this whole How I Won The War au for a while. I may do fanart for it, so I'm letting the notes be public. I may do a better summary later on, plan to anyway. cohesive, like.
Brief summary: Gripweed from How I Won The War and the Major Paul from Magical Mystery tour exist in the same universe and they fuck. The year is 1940, wherein Gripweed is 25 (born 1915) and Major is 30 (born 1910). This is because John was 25 during the HIWTW filming, and though Paul wasn't 30, his character said he was in the movie, and that seems right to me.
There are three seperate endings I have thought of 1:Gripweed dies (like in the movie) 2: Gripweed's Brood ending. Major dies, and Grip is now in charge of their kits (NOT ABO) as a single father in the war. 3: they both survive, and go on after the war to live in a Liverpool rowhouse, living off their pension, doing their duty to queen and country by repopulating, as they live a humble post-war working to middle class life.
