Summary
AU starting with the end of Prisoner of Azkaban, where Peter Pettigrew is not allowed to escape and Sirius is cleared of all charges. As a free man he takes custody of Harry and the two of them figure out how to become a family. Even though it's what they both want, it's still not easy.
Sirius has a lot of emotional damage and a huge guilt complex. He also needs to learn to be a father to Harry instead of a brother to James. Harry has no idea of what having a real father is like. For the first time in his life, there's an adult who is not okay with all the crazy messes he gets himself into.
Obviously a lot of out-of-character behavior, since the characters were not allowed this relationship in the books and it would naturally progress quite differently. This is not the story you want if you are looking for action. It's simply about a godfather who is willing to do anything to keep his godson safe and a boy who realizes that he isn't alone anymore.
