A little disclaimer- the prologue (Does Your Mother Know?) and first chapter (Incident Potential) were originally written as one-shots in a loosely connected series (also called Fault Lines). I’ve since decided the story works better as a chapter piece, so I’ve privated the originals and reposted them here. Enjoy!
Tonks is, by all accounts, a thoroughly modern witch. She’s independent, employed, and in no rush to settle down. She’s proud of her Auror badge, confident in her future, and more than capable of holding her own. But like many of her peers, she still carries subtle, and sometimes not-so-subtle, prejudices she’s never had to question.
That is, until Remus Lupin enters her life and quietly turns it on its head.
This story is my take on the beginning of Pink Moon’s love story, the main focus being Tonks’s internal journey. Remus’s story is addressed, but I’ll place Tonks front and center as she figures her own learned bigotry out. I believe it’s realistic that someone raised in her world might harbor these biases. I have no idea how far along it will go, but I fuck with it, hope you do too.
