Summary
Following the release of their debut album, the Donny Nova Band kicks off their first national tour.
It was supposed to be a fun trip. Endless sold out nights, unique stops and cities along the way, and a chance to rekindle the flame of their popularity after the "Tribute to the Troops" debacle.
Trauma was never meant to factor into their perfect plans for the future, but sometimes the past refuses to die.
And, sometimes, everyday life is harder to navigate with the war still fresh in all of their minds...
Or, seven individual stories featuring each member of the Donny Nova Band as they face past demons and overcome their struggles as a team.

The Nova Club runs on gin, grief, and rhythm. Donny leads the band like a man dodging something sharper than debt. One handshake with Maranzano, and the tempo hasn’t been steady since.
Johnny’s got rhythm wired into his bones, even if the war rewired everything else. Davy drinks more than he tunes. Jimmy quotes legal statutes between sets. Wayne watches doors like they're coming for his kids, And Nick—Nick’s playing high, loud, and dangerous, like he thinks he can drown out fate.
They laugh between numbers.
They kill trumpets, don’t they?

Jimmy threw up his hands, shoving himself off the floor. “You know, I don’t know why I even signed up for this.”
Donny had the gall to look ticked, and maybe Jimmy shouldn’t have shouted, or ripped the papers from his fingers, but that was beside the point. “What? The band or the law degree?”
“All of it!” Jimmy shot back. “I can’t do any of it, it’s too hard!” Shoving the last of his papers in his briefcase, he made for the door, muttering, “And I was an absolute idiot to think I could juggle this many balls at once.”
Or, Jimmy finds himself underwater with work and Donny doesn’t seem to understand.

Notice the way Nick had to catch Jimmy before he tumbled back down into the embankment because he could hardly see...
Halfway through their first national tour, the Donny Nova Band gets into a car accident that triggers more than a few memories for the band members.
