Peter let his eyes move around the room. Dr. Octavius needed to dust his house. His dark wooden furniture was pretty, but would be prettier if it weren’t covered by years of the build up. Funny how that works. It seems like it just appears, but it was years and years of grime that no one bothered to clean.
He wasn't having a good day. His mind was constantly full of unpleasant memories, for lack of a better word. The kind that made him ache deep within, or the kind that made him claw at his thighs, or the kind that made him stare in the mirror and wonder whose body he was in.
The kind that made him wonder when it stopped being his body. The kind that made him wonder how anyone could look at him and see anything but a used and tossed aside bitch.

After a long and brutal career as Spider-Man, Peter Parker has hit rock bottom. His old universe is gone, his family is gone, and he's abandoned in an alternate timeline where he'd never been born. On the streets and left as a living ghost, he hasn't given up on being Spider-Man. He hasn't given up on other people. He's only given up on himself, and that's still a tragedy. But even at his lowest, he's always what every hero aspires to be. It doesn't hurt that both Dr. Doom and the Incredible Hulk are stuck in the same mess.
A slow burn superhero story about Peter Parker starting from the lowest point I can possibly put him in, and battling his way to the very top. This is going to be a long one, and while it starts off in a sad place, the overall direction will always be to somewhere more positive. There will be setbacks. Not everything will work out. But my promise is that he'll always be in a better place than where he started.
