Set after the events of Baldur's Gate 3, we pick up with Shadow roaming the world. A redeemed yet haunted Bhaalspawn, the fight with Orin and the Netherbrain having healed the wound that Orin dealt that buried his memories.
His soul fragmented, cracked, and tearing apart as the edges of madness claw at his mind, the Urge a jagged whisper in the dark. Will Shadow find his peace or will he succumb to the madness that claws so hungrily at his mind?
Lost within, Shadow fights not just himself. The world sees only the darkness.
Shadow fled Baldur's Gate and his beloved Astarion's arms, fearing he would only bring him pain, yet the fates draw him back into the storm.

Heart shattered, Ash a Bhaalspawn whose sole redeeming quality is she managed to resist her dark urges, has been sentenced to an excruciating death after losing to Orin. Barely managing to wrest the stone from Orin and nearly dying save but for that she insisted on Shadowheart accompanying her, Karlach, Astarion, and Jaheira into that nightmare, Ash now faces a hard choice.
Soon victory will be held in their hands, but Ash's path has become a shattered mess and she knows one thing deep down inside. She would never subject Astarion to watching whatever is about to go down and so in the night after the Netherbrain, Ash leaves Baldur's Gate never to return save for what word of deed comes by bard.
This story is one of loss and redemption and will get dark.

Jaheira hates going to these boring wastes of time, but misery does love company, so she drags Astarion along with her this time. Harpers are used to unusual people, after all.
This causes more problems than she anticipated; Astarion truly didn’t even do anything this time! Now the two of them need to get to the bottom of this! Time to avert another threat to the realm… poor Jaheira just can never catch a break.
Hey do you like Astarion and Jaheira interacting? Same! They banter back and forth for thousands of words here, yippee!
Also at one point he tries to sleep with her.
