Summary

This is a largely lore-compliant fanfic between a female Dark Urge elf and the druid Halsin from Baldur's Gate 3. Basically I take dialogue from the game, add some things, move some stuff around and delete others to capture the story through a different medium. Having some knowledge of the game will likely make it an easier read, because I won't be going into the adventures too much, but rather focusing on the relationships between the characters.

The story focuses on the psychological horror of Dirge discovering his past and trying to resist the urge as he descends deeper into madness, how Alfira’s faith in him becomes a catalyst for change, and his relationship with his crew as they try to save the world from illithid enslavement.
If you ever wished you could recruit and/or romance Alfira, this story is for you. I hope you enjoy my vision of how that might unfold!

Halsin did not seem wholly convinced, but Dark pulled him into another kiss, slower this time, as Halsin liked it. Little teeth, no biting to the point of drawing blood and needing stitches. He would be good in this moment. He would follow Halsin's lead in this, and after, to the Shadowlands, where he would help raise a thousand orphans he did not care for, and bring peace to cursed soil that he could not bring to himself.
