Summary
Against his better judgement the young Detective Constable Morse is finding his return to work hard. Following his emotional outburst and subsequent dismissal, his work colleagues become increasingly concerned for his well being. After visiting his flat and finding his fragile body laid in bed, no opera playing, and surrounded by a second hand cars worth of empty bottles, Chief Inspector Thursday, along with his family decide to take him in to look after as their own.
