Expecting Gladio to push, Noct was surprised when instead he chuckled, allowing his greatsword to return to the Armiger in a burst of blue sparks. “All right. Enjoy your date, kids. Don’t stay out too late.”

“Let it be, Noct.” Ignis raised his arm for Noct to bump into when he tried storming after.
How pathetic was it that Noct’s indignance immediately floated away? He deflated like a balloon. It helped that when he looked up at Ignis’ face, he was completely taken by the sight of pink filling in his cheeks—and was that a smile?
Would Noct be crazy if he started hoping?Or: Noct was twenty-five. It'd been two years since the Long Night ended. There was one thing he desperately wanted, but it always stayed just out of reach... Until now.

Prompto jogged up the steps to join Noctis in the empty space below the raised dais where the throne was situated. Noctis lay back on the floor, and Prompto sprawled out beside him, close but still a respectful distance away. Noctis wished he’d picked a spot closer so he could feel better about all the time that had passed.
So he could pretend that things were just as they’d always been.
After defeating Ardyn and banishing the scourge, Noctis and Prompto reconnect under the stars.

Ravus Nox Fleuret is not a ridiculous man. And yet, here he is, pining over someone he can't have, and making one ridiculous decision after another. Moving into Ignis' apartment after their harrowing experiences in Altissia and Niflheim had seemed like a good idea at the time, but he couldn't have foreseen the consequences of doing so. At least he's getting better at folding laundry and masturbating in the shower.
UPDATE May 11th, 2025: I haven't abandoned this fic, but I've started on a complete rewrite. I will probably post it as an entirely new work, but I promise I won't leave you hanging!

Summary
Noctis missed the bashful creature that had taken him stargazing when they were small boys, or blushed when Noctis held his hand, oblivious in his innocence, and told him how beautiful his music was.
Hearing the music made him feel as though he could feel the velvet of the piano bench, the weight of Ignis's body pressed against him as he swayed in time to the music. He was a prince, and betrothed at that; that was all that he would ever have of Ignis, no matter how much more his traitorous heart wanted.
These were pleasant reminders... good memories.

Celestial lightning branched between the sabertusks they'd struggled to fell, destroying the beasts with one devastating blast, and all at once the battle was over. When the god finally knelt to deposit his charge back on solid ground, Ignis felt very small, like a moth hovering before an enormous flame. Noctis was the sun, radiant despite his unsurety, the very center of Ignis' devotion.
