Summary
When Jak first met Daxter it was the day after they had landed in Sandover, when he had gotten lost and ran into a couple of older boys who did not seem to like the new kid. They picked on him in any way they could, his green hair, his shortness, him not talking, anything they could find about him they made fun of, it was only when Jak started crying that Daxter entered the scene, punching one of the boys square in the nose.
Daxter had grabbed Jak by the wrist and ran from the bullies, only stopping once they were by the docs. They stopped, stared at each other, and started laughing, laughing so hard for so long that by the end of it they were both holding their stomachs and out of breath. Once they stopped they took a deep breath, looked at each other, and started laughing again. Neither knew the other's name, but they did know this was gonna be a great friendship.
And thinking about how he met Daxter, he hoped he wasn’t making a mistake taking the kid with him, and away from this horrid place.

Jak wakes screaming, shivering, fighting off monsters that are no longer there. There’s nothing but darkness, pure panic and a racing heartbeat. Hands search the abyss for a weapon, an escape from the terror, from the hands that hurt and break and take. Summary
In the late hours of the night, when the world seems still, Jak can pretend he is home. Can forget that he is stuck in a city filled with cruelty and dangerous men, has been thrown into a world that makes little sense to him. It was easier to cope when there was a war to fight. Someone always needed a favour, Torn and Krew’s constant demands and missions kept him running. One objective after the next, always running, running from the past, from the thoughts inside his head. There was no time to miss sunsets at Geyser Rock or think, for even a fraction of a second, about all he endured at the Baron's hands.
***
The war is over, and the Metal-Head leader is dead, Haven can rebuild and heal after decades of death. Only Jak can't seem to stop, is lost and out of place in this foreign place, unable to heal or face the pain of his past.
Daxter is doing all he can to help Jak through the aftermath, but his best friend is falling apart faster then Daxter can catch him.Series
