Grantaire is an oddity, a mystery that lets the Amis confused and wondering, and mostly curious. Very curious.
Up to the point where, slowly, they open the Pandora box; and they definitely wish they had not. But once you’ve done something, you can’t really go back in time to erase it. So you struggle, and you learn.
But in the end, it’s worth it.

"“What the fuck?” Grantaire opens the door with her hair all mussed up from sleep, yawning and looking pissed but the moment she opens the door and sees Courf she opens the door right away and steps to the side so that she can come in. Her face drains pale and she snaps to action, years of practice dealing with situations like this back at home suddenly coming in to focus."
After a protest gone wrong, Enjolras and Courfeyrac end up on Grantaire's doorstep.
It's a tense night and the rest of the Amis are scattered around the city in the middle of it all.

There is subsequently a lot of Clark Kenting, coffee drinking, mixed signals, and unnecessary public displays of affection, along with the occasional drunk Darcy and severely overworked Maria Hill. Oh and they save NYC from a virtually invincible goo monster with massive fangs and claws that can swallow a man whole. (And it has tentacles, don’t forget the tentacles.)

Then someone had said something positively vile about Courfeyrac, who was at Enjolras’ side. Grantaire hadn't been sure if it was racist or what, but Marius had still whirled around and slammed his fist into the dude’s face, in one swift motion. Everything had descended into chaos after that point. Enjolras had jumped off the stage and disappeared into the rapidly growing crowd around the fight, despite Grantaire grabbing her by the arm to try and stop her. Grantaire had been clipped in the face by a flying elbow.
And then, there had been gunshots.
