Ray Narvaez Jr. is a regular civilian, okay? He wants nothing to do with his best friends, Michael and Gavin's crew. He doesn't want to hear about the plans to rob SunTrust, and damnit, he doesn't want anything to do with the Vagabond either. He was a normal civilian. It was just an accident. The guy was following him, was tripping on something, and was overly paranoid, and he attacked Ray; I mean, what was he supposed to do? The Vagabond helped him cover it up, but now Ray doesn't know how to act. It was like Los Santos desperately dragged him into the criminal life, no matter how hard he fought against it. Things just kept happening to drag Ray under.
(I'm going to pretend that it is 2014 and that nothing wrong has happened in my life yet, and I'm going to write fanfiction about a group of people who barely know each other anymore. My belief is that the written versions of these real people are our creations as a community, so fuck it. Imma keep writing these fake characters that share names and physical features with the real ones, but their personalities are ours to create and change as we see fit.)

EDIT: what the fuck can i even say at this point y'all. been meaning to edit this for years since the Everything went down, so here's that. i'm leaving the fic up but orphaning it. if you remember who wrote this no you don't. final chapter is an epilogue summary since i already had it planned and idk people might want to know what would have happened. i in no way condone the actions of real-life ryan haywood and do in fact hope he's died in the past two years.
Ray hates the Vagabond.
Hates working with him, hates looking at him, hates being in the same city as him, hates everything about his stupid existence.
It's a good thing he has Ryan, the nice barista from the cafe around the corner, to keep him sane and more than a little lovestruck.
The trouble is, Ryan has no idea Ray's a part of the most notorious crew in Los Santos. And there may be some things Ray doesn't know about Ryan either....
