Red is not a little. She is a neutral on all papers legal and not so legal. Her mother definitely didn’t slap her across the face when her classification letter came in and march away to chop some doctors head off, why would she have to? Red is a neutral.
So red is sent to Auradon prep to find a way to let her mother escape the rabbit hole. Whatever it takes “and whatever you do don’t slip up” , Red pretends not to notice the double meaning in her mothers words.
And everything was going just as she planned until of course, it doesn’t.

Chloe always dreamt of the fairy tale Happily Ever After of falling in love with a story book prince, and grew up with a very black and white version of right and wrong. Red challenges everything she ever thought she wanted.
Now she's living in the shades of grey.
(This is a spin off of my other story Red's Descent. For full context of a few of these scenes, you should probably read that one first. This is not a complete rewrite. While I did rewrite some scenes from Chloe's perspective, most are new or continuations from the first story.)

"You aren't real," it's breathed out, almost like a prayer, like Red was hoping it were true. "I can be... I can be whatever you want me to be Red." Shaking her head, the girl forces herself to look away, a growl erupting in the phantom's throat as she's grabbed onto again. Chloe's grip fading as fury begins to dance in her eyes.
"I'm real enough, Red." The hand disappearing through her face as the princess could finally breath, panic leaving as she goes limp. "No," denial rips out of her throat, the redhead turning away hiding her face in the pillow.
