At first, the Rito champion thought he was jealous that he hadn't been chosen to protect Zelda. He was the strongest of all 4 mighty warriors, no? He was qualified enough for the task. But instead, Link, who he found an utter nuisance and brat of a knight, was given the opportunity, chosen by King Bosphoramus himself.
Link, on the other hand, is busy with his own burden.
"With so much at stake, and so many eyes upon me, I feel it necessary to stay strong and to silently bear any burden." The first words ever mouthed to Revali. Somehow, they were similar. No, he wouldn't change his perspective upon the silent knight.Not even if... in the worst circumstance,

Summary
Revali should have been better in those final moments. Better than being so overconfident that he couldn't keep track of his arrows, only for Windbligh throwing back all them. The sheer force of the whirwinds may have broken the wooden shaft, but the arrowheads came shooting right through his eye.
With one eye remaining, Revali now has to navigate in a world where his purpose has been stripped away from him. Sure, Zelda has been lucky to finally gain her sacred power in the moment it mattered, but not even needing the help of Vah Medoh before it was already over has been... disappointing to say the least.

This is Revali's life now. Glorified messenger carrier. The defeat of Calamity was almost a year ago and the restoration of Hyrule is still underway. Zelda had appointed him a title he doesn't remember and he had and has since freely given his assistance when asked. He is tasked mostly with important message deliverance and retrieval. All things considered, he could be dead so Revali tries to keep his distaste in check. He's not sure where this bitter feeling comes from. It makes an appearance once in while, sweeping through Revali's mind, creating a mess in its wake before losing momentum and receding. And all he can do is right everything askew and get back to work. Flying around the new and wild Hyrule isn't a bad lot in life in all honesty. And not nearly as exhausting as Mipha and the others seem to believe.

It seems the man has set his sights on Arania: one of Princess Zelda's retainers, ladies-in-waiting, whatever Hylians call it. Revali doesn't care much for her title. There's just this itch in the back of his brain saying Darwin needs to back off.

Blurred visions mixed with his own choking gasps. Link can’t remember the last time he had fallen so low, and now, the kingdom rests on his shoulders. He’s a capable warrior, but now here he stands shattered and barely standing.
Zelda has spent her whole life preparing for this. Studying night after night in attempts to foster a connection running on sparks. Everyone is starting to find their own roles, everyone except her.
In Hyrule the Calamity feels just around the corner, and there is still so much to be done. The margin of success rests on Zelda and Link and their abilities to take on their roles. However, as Link battles his inner demons and Zelda worries about their future and her role as Oracle. Their bond starts to fray, and if they don’t come together soon, then the Calamity might overcome them all.
