Magnus Bane has loved Alexander Lightwood since the first time he laid eyes upon the man. He'd expected to spend, at least, all of Alec's life with the the hunter, so when Alec dies while on mission, Magnus spirals into what he thought he should do and what was morally correct, unaware of the truth that remained hidden from him by the one who his heart longed for.
Or, in which, Magnus Bane gets whiplash from grief and is left more confused than anything else, knowing that now he has to teach a new vampire how to be one, despite being so under prepared to do such a thing, while his mind spirals further into becoming a monster.
