Summary
Four years after the war ends, Ozai escapes his prison with the intention of killing his son and does just that. Iroh does what is necessary to protect his nephew—and the world—only he doesn't realize that the spirits have given them a much better chance than he could have ever hoped for. He wakes up the day they near the Southern Water Tribe and is overjoyed to find that he is not the only one the spirits have sent. With his nephew, a young moon spirit in her human form, young Katara and Sokka, as well as several much more unexpected companions, they know that this time, Ozai can not survive this war.

Zuko fought against the Gaang when they tried to save Zuko from the blizzard in the North Pole. Finding himself lost in the tundra, Zuko fights with every breath before stumbling into a valley, hosting a massive, gnarled tree of dead roots in the center.
One month after the failed siege, from the frozen wastelands of the northern tundra, a new Avatar walks free. One who is of the dark rather than the light, of the push rather than the pull.

but the dreams always change at the last second, so they never figure out the whole entirety of the context of the dream. it’s like—through the dreams, they get pieces to a puzzle, but they never end up solving it.
they have these types of dreams for years, and when they meet in the crystal catacombs, their heads start to hurt—a lot. when their heads start to hurt at the same time, they’re shocked. so, they get to talking about their dreams and realize: they’ve been having the same dreams, but from different perspectives.
