Summary
Mr. Hall leaned back, bracing himself so as not to tumble from the sill, his golden hair sparkling in the moonlight, christened with dew drops from the downpour, tresses tossing wildly as he shakes his head. It struck Scudder how beautiful he looked, the light hitting his features, outlining them with silver. Hall laughed, a mad laugh, the kind that tugs your lips too far outward as your mind races like a brook devolving into rapids; thoughts crashing over rocks and pulling in the small creatures unable to get to the other side.

Summary
"I don't love you anymore," declaimed the words that echoed in his mind restlessly, memories of what they had been and the nothing they had become to each other haunting his sleep-deprived soul like the chant of a tormented ghost. Clive did not love him anymore, repeated his brain in a lifeless, matter-of-factly tone. He had stopped loving him, so he had been told with no fear nor remorse. Since that time, Maurice had watched himself get used to his days darkening as soon as they were born, gearing himself up to welcome loneliness, death even.
So it had been for Maurice, until a telegram calling out his name — begging, not without a nuance of forced apathy, for him to be seen again — was delivered to him like a thunder shattering the candid clouds.

Summary
First time I laid eyes on him I wanted him. I couldn't believe how beautiful he was. Blond hair, blue eyes, and that wonderful smile- I wished it was me he was smiling at like that, not Mr Durham. I started to think about him all the time. Started to wish it was him when I was with Milly, or another girl or sometimes another lad. I had all these thoughts in my head, about him going for a stroll in the woods, and me being there, making him forget Mr Durham for good.

Summary
When Alec opened the door, he was looking at Maurice, who had a wonderful expression of awe painted on his face, witnessing the wooden cottage, the bare windows, the space of the main area, the turn into what could become the kitchen, the washroom, the small storage area, and the bedroom. They envisioned the furniture, they smelled the food that would be made here, the fire burning away at the fireplace, the smoke rising out of the chimney. They saw and felt it all.

Summary
[CH. 6 and 7 up. I cleaned up some things from previous chapters in the edit.]
"For love to end where it begins is far more beautiful..."
In every ending there lies a beginning...
A minute by minute fic. Merging details from the book and film I attempt to fill in some of the blanks, or ''fade-in fade-out'' moments that occur before and after certain chapters. Every bit as my mad mind would like to imagine them. Not a novel idea, but this is an exploratory endeavor. Written in 3rd person, leaning mostly towards Alec's POV. Trying my damnedest to remain faithful, but I can't resist poetic liberty, so I may stray from canon. Though some parts are far from explicit, the story will eventually progress there. I so love this pair and I hope it shows. If I have the guts, hopefully this will lead up to a post-boathouse/aftermath story.
