It looked like what you imagine a feral animal trying to appear smaller in front of a predator to look like. Except the so-called predator was Sprout, who looked equally -- if not more -- frightened. "..Cosmo?" Sprout took a tentative step forward. Not a single time did either of the pair blink, as if afraid the other would disappear once out of sight even for a second.

TLDR; Cosmo is twisted but retained sanity. Sprout finds him and helps rehabilitate him.
