"But Charles..." he tries to reason.
"Promise me! It's not like it would change anything. He's too far away. I don't want him to give up on the race, because I know he'll drop everything as soon as he knows. But it won't matter—it's too late anyway." His tone is defeatist, and it breaks Daniel's heart, but they both know it's true."
Pierre think this third place podium is the best moment of his day. Little did he knwo Charles is going into labor back in Monaco.

Max’s mum had basically begged him to let her meet Daniel. He laughed it off at first, playing it off as a joke, until his mum’s glare made him realise that she in fact was not joking.
And so, dates and times were planned and everything was going ahead.
He was so nervous as they pulled up to the house. What would she say to Daniel? What would he say to her? There were lots of things in his childhood that Daniel didn’t know about yet, and he wanted to keep it that way.
