Summary
Swiftpaw hears the snap of jaws beside his ear, and lets out a wail. "Brightpaw!"
Why was this happening now? Was he dying? Swiftpaw can't tell whether the barking and howling is real or the gentle meows of his clanmates. What if I never see my clanmates again? He wonders sadly, fighting to get to his paws.
Then Brightpaw must.
I have to save her.-----
Swiftpaw makes a terrible choice; after dragging his friend, Brightpaw, into this mess, Swiftpaw isn't sure he'll ever be able to atone for the tragedy he's caused.
