It wasn’t like Lucio thought it wouldn’t happen, he just thought it would be a few more centuries before it did. Lucio thought he was going to die peacefully before anything chaotic like that would happen. But what is this thing? This inevitable thing. Well, that would be the concept of being invaded by aliens. The only idea of extraterrestrial creatures Lucio had known about was the aliens from Independence Day, a vintage movie made fifty-five years ago. I mean, he was training to be a fighter pilot! Not to be some space-geek like his friend, Jenk. Lucio knows for sure that his training has prepared for this situation, in fact he just did a rescue mission simulator last week! But this was different, he was still a kid. A kid terrified for his family, a kid scared for his friends, a kid who really wants to pass out right now. He just wished this was happening at home, with the comfort of his family. But no…it just had to be at the Millenium Institute of Space, his dreaded school that he worked hard to get into.
