Having made friends with Ike in the Mad King's War, Haar makes sure to find the blue-haired commander when he spots the Greil Mercenaries coming to Lucia's rescue at Fort Alpea.
Unfortunately for Haar, nobody warned him just how hard Ike had been working out for the last three years.
This fic follows Radiant Dawn up until the arrival of the Central Army, mostly from Haar's perspective (sometimes Ike's), and focuses on a relationship between them that starts with a bang, literally. Despite having left Begnion years ago, Haar still bears the scars - literally and figuratively - of growing up among a militantly homophobic church, in addition to the crushing fear of losing another leader like Shiharam. It takes a lot of time and effort for him to start digging into his past to begin releasing some of those traumas, but thankfully Ike is more than just a pretty face, and does his best to keep Haar steady through the journey.
Along the way, Haar interacts with a few other characters, themes, and the general acceptance of being part of a group again - and having someone to fight for again.
Part 1 (Echoes of Daybreak) is required reading if you want this to make any real sense!
