Summary
Every night for the last 22 years, Mercer Frey has been haunted by the same nightmare of a dark-haired woman, a cursed tomb, and a murder of crows. Brynjolf has been barely holding the crumbling guild together as its members are slowly picked off one by one through a series of arrests, executions, and accidents. When an exhausted, staving, and half-dead stranger stumbles into the streets of Riften, she finds herself caught up in a decades-long curse that somehow has much more to do with her than anyone could have realized.

What they don't expect is a law-minded bard and his healer wife setting up shop in town and slowly changing it for the better. A comedy of errors of thieves trying and failing to dig up dirt on their marks turns dark as Mercer Frey reveals exactly how far he's willing to go to get the Guild back on top. A sequel/story in compliment to my fic Restoration and Speech (that does not require reading the other first).

All she wanted to do in that moment was to run back to the Cistern, pack her stuff, and get on the first carriage out of Riften. She didn’t care at this point if she never saw Brynjolf again, or if she was abandoning any possibility of a lucrative career in thieving. She'd have a better chance of surviving the frigid streets of Windhelm, or starving inside the warrens of Markarth, than she currently had under the domination of this man.
Rough, calloused hands grasped onto her waist as he drove into her.

They didn't make it out of Irkngthand as scot-free as they thought. Brynjolf was ready to accept his death as a result of an injury he refused to mention to the other Nightingales before they went their separate ways. His reunion with Nocturnal is postponed by Anaya, who in saving his life, reluctantly reveals to him she's trained at the College of Winterhold. However playing that close to death sparks a need in both of them they're no longer willing to ignore.
As Brynjolf spends time with his fellow Nightingale and Guild mate, he realizes there is more to her than any of them ever fathomed.
This is porn with plot! Mostly my need for more Brynjolf smut than currently exists. Sometimes it's more plot and sometimes more porn, but either way, every chapter should have something for everyone.
