Krista had ways beyond just words with Ymir. It made her feel special, and Ymir knew things would be more complicated if Krista kept on making her feel like she was something more than what she was. More so, an admission would open floodgates that could cause one to suffocate. Why put herself at risk when she could just keep that barrier up?
Her thoughts were annoyingly interrupted as she heard light footsteps walk up to her before coming to a stop. She didn’t need to open her eyes to know who it was, for her senses had already given away that it was the one person who challenged those barriers Ymir had tried so hard to keep up.
