But Ozai had always demanded loyalty, and although Azula carried out his every command, he had no doubt that his daughter would betray him if it benefited her. But there was one person who had given him his undying loyalty since day one. The person who he had burned and sent away. And now he has a feeling he never had before: shame.
And dammed he be if he’ll let his position as Zuko’s father be stolen by some water tribe chief. A position he didn’t deserve, but now wanted to have.

Besides the enflamed scar, Zuko looked strangely… handsome. His lighter skin glowed almost ethereally in the Artic sun, and his golden eyes were pools of honey that Sokka found himself drowning in. Sokka envisioned the banished Fire Nation prince to be a tall, old soldier with greying hair and a mildly xenophobic attitude. Zuko looked nothing like that. If only he wasn’t Fire Nation...
Zuko was having a similar epiphany. Who was this boy standing in front of him with elaborate war paint and the sharpest jawline he had ever seen? Who did this sun-kissed-skin, ocean-eyed, spiky-wolftailed vision of a man think he was? A fleeting thought passed through Zuko’s mind, If only he wasn’t the Avatar. Nevertheless, ogling pretty boys would never bring his honor back.

This guy and his little pointy metal boots completely stamped that vision out.
If only he wasn’t Fire Nation...Zuko took off his helmet -- he was already half-blind in one eye and the armor was doing everything but helping his vision. He then met eyes that redefined the color blue. Who was this boy standing in front of him with elaborate war paint and the sharpest jawline he had ever seen on a person his age? Who did this sun-kissed-skin, ocean-eyed, spiky-wolftailed vision of a man think he was?

Zuko didn’t know what to think. The words were so out of the blue, so unexpected that his brain blanked. His mind raced, searching for something to say that could possibly make this moment feel any less awkward. His throat felt tight as he spoke, his eyes imploring hers.
“Mai got back together with me. Before the coronation.”
H had just matched her confession. It was possibly the stupidest response he could have given. An uncomfortable stillness settled between them. Katara's gaze was piercing yet sympathetic, her eyes searching for answers as she spoke again.
"Do you...love her?"
