Summary
Nothing has been untouched; starvation, exploitation, and death at the hands of the Fire Nation. As the Southern Water Tribe’s benders are hunted to extinction, one is born beneath a full moon. Her first cries echo through the night: a waterbender.
The raid came fast—brutal, merciless. But Katara was spared. Hidden away in the Fire Nation palace, growing up in the shadow of her enemies. Forced to assimilate for survival, she clung to the only remnants of home, her mother’s necklace… and the light in a lonely boy’s golden eyes.
Zuko. The prince who made her laugh when nothing else could.
The Avatar returned, the war’s tides shifted, and Katara seized her chance to escape.
Joining Aang, she fights for the world’s freedom—while battling the ghosts of her past, including the boy who never wrote, the boy who stood on the wrong side when it mattered most.
He comes seeking redemption. And though she’s the only one who hasn’t forgiven him, those long-buried feelings—have never truly left her.
In the quiet moments between battles, they begin to surface again, soft and smoldering. And slowly, painfully, their hearts begin to remember what they once were… and thoughts of what they might become. -

Summary
After the war, Katara loses herself in the rhythms of tribal life. In the South Pole the moon is sovereign. Deep in the ice and snow, in the heart of her element, it is easy to forget that there is a land of fire and smoke and ash. The kingdom of the sun. Of dragons. Her journey with the Avatar slips into memory. A strange past life, shadowy and ephemeral.
But some things do not stay consigned to twilight, to history.
She is 20 years old when she sees him again.

Summary
my advice is always ruin the friendship,
better that than regret it
for all timeWhat if Katara had stayed at the Jasmine Dragon instead of running off when she saw Zuko? What if she'd decided to find out what he was up to? What if they'd bonded ahead of time? How might things have changed? Will it be enough to lead Zuko down the right path sooner, or will he still have to learn his lesson the hard way?
my advice is always answer the question,
better that than to ask it,

Summary
In Omashu, Azula has a different line of thinking.
“Any other would use blunt tools. I will use nothing but subtle intelligence. If I convince the Avatar I’m a friend, he will lead me right to Zuzu, and I’ll take fatso, brother, and the Airbender's little group all in one fell swoop.”
It's going well, at first. Very well. The Airbender trusts her, the male Water Peasant seems to like talking strategy (and making googly eyes at Ty Lee), and the Waterbender...
...Why does the Waterbender keep looking at her like that?...And why does Azula not want her to stop?

Summary
Katara had been so sure of her plan to liberate the prison rig. How was she to know how efficiently the guards would respond to an uprising? Zuko had been positive that his best course of action was to travel separate from his Uncle. What else was he supposed to do when he came across a person from his past? Sometimes, through all the doubt, two people collide. Eventual Zutara.
This is both a Canon Related and Canon Divergent, reimagined ATLA story. Katara joins Zuko in his journey of self-discovery across the Earth Kingdom as personalities clash and beliefs are questioned. Familiar allies and enemies await them along the way.
Ripple effects of having Katara absent from the majority of 'Book 1: Water,' are seen once Katara and Zuko meet up with the Gaang later on in the story. 'Book 1: Water' occurs mainly in the flashbacks of this story as Chapter 1 picks up close to the start of 'Book 2: Earth.'
The most recent chapters explore the aftermath of the conclusion of the Hundred Year War.

Summary
In a world where the Avatar was killed during the airbender genocide, the cycle has been repeating for one hundred years. Each time, the Avatar is hunted and murdered by the tyrannical Fire Lord who has expanded his reign to most of the world and declared himself Emperor.
