Summary
She is Commander Shepard, and this is her favorite coffee shop on the Citadel. One day while on shore leave, Shepard has a fateful encounter with a drell, one Tannor Nuara. They keep bumping into each other, and eventually form a friendship. This friendship, in turn, becomes something more. Are they destined to be together, or will fate keep them apart in the war to come?
Follows the events of the Mass Effect series. As the story progresses, we take a look at the trauma Shepard has accumulated and her reactions to it, as well as her coping skills (or lack thereof).
Rated E for eventual smut. Contains game dialogue. I own nothing from BioWare.

Thane settled flat on his back in the grass, staring up at the sky. “And until recently, Shepard and I were running toward death together. She might never have thought of it that way, but I did.”
“Yeah, well, you were wrong, and the least you can do is show up so she can tell you so. I know I’m never going to hear the end of it.” Garrus watched him for a moment, then stretched out on his back too.
Thane said nothing for a long moment, twisting his fingers together. “I do want that,” he whispered. “I shouldn’t, but I do.”
“You really are the most depressing man on the planet, you know that?” he said, with too much fondness behind the words. “If you need backup, you should know who to ask by now.”
Thane said nothing again, long enough Garrus glanced at him, to find Thane staring, his dark eyes unblinking. “Would you? If I asked?”
Garrus sat up abruptly, a clumsy attempt to hide his blush. “I just said so. Spirits. Don’t make a big deal out of it. I owe you enough.”
“No.” Thane was still watching Garrus, his eyes unreadable. “There are no ledgers kept between comrades.”

Thane fucked up a while ago. Garrus will help him make nice with Shepard, if he wants.

Shepard was always hard to read. Sometimes his perpetual smile felt like the curve of a comedy mask in an ancient Greek tragedy, eerie in its immobility. Sometimes it felt like a threat. Now, though, it fell away for a moment, and he sighed. “You saw Thane?” Kaidan nodded, and Shepard reached into his pocket and took out a pencil, a fresh one he hadn’t snapped in half or chewed to death. “I did ask him to keep an eye on you. I was worried someone might decide to finish the job, and—he’s good backup. I’m just surprised you actually saw him. He’s good at keeping to the shadows.”
Kaidan wanted to keep needling him, but he wasn’t doped up enough to be mad anymore.
No, be honest. He was too glad to have Shepard here, inches away, breathing the same air, to be mad anymore. “I notice you didn’t argue with the boyfriend line. Guess the gossip rags were right.”
Now Shepard looked away. Though he was smiling again, it had taken on a fixed, ragged edge. “Well, I didn’t want you to get worked up over it, but you are a little behind the times. Thane—Thane has things to take care of, and I can’t blame him for that.”

Give them a sweet meet cute before they meet years later and she recruits him but she doesn't know he's now Dark Thane and he makes her his."
And seeing as this is for Thesarabeara you bet your ass theres sex scenes involved in chapter 2!!
