While loving and being loved by Zag was what Thanatos had long been yearning for, he finds himself wondering how to keep the Prince of the Underworld interested.

“I would say it’s funny to see you here. Shouldn’t you be on Olympus?”
“Yes, I should be.” The prolonged silence that follows makes Zagreus look up from where he was brushing his wet clothes and note that his mother is looking at him with an expectant look.
“So, uh, why is it funny to see me here?” He gulps.
“Because you should be in the administrative room, finishing the duties that have been assigned to you. That is what is expected of the son of the King of the Underworld.” She punctuates particular words with stabs of her finger in the air and steps closer to her son before she stands directly in front of him.
“How do you know about that? Wait, did Nyx tell you?” Her eyes glower as his answer.

When Zagreus slacks on his administrative duty, it seems he needs a firm guiding hand... or two, to steer him in the right direction.

He does not spare a goodbye to his brother or to Megaera, both of whom he knows will note his absence but not question it, surely, because a more pressing matter takes precedence than him leaving again. They knew before he did anyway, his duties keeping him in the dark almost as much as their prince has; Prince Zagreus is gone, has run away. The difference from his previous attempts: he has not returned.

Achilles watched as Megaera's wing flapped behind her, tensing and relaxing at the joint. His eyes glided along the connecting lines to her shoulder, gilded under memoirs of golden antiquity, but still just visible below.
Strong arms with light scarring stretched beneath, but he instead focused on the incision along her shoulder blade. Her skin was marbled akin to a corpse, but it looked closer to a pearl than decay. Like glazed limestone. He enjoyed the sheen of it, reminding him of his mother and their home of the sea.
He wondered how she’d glisten below such waves. If she'd taste of saltwater between his teeth.
