I wanted to be able to tag it for its genre without expecting readers to wait until Chap. 18 to find it. Arthur John Gore is the son of Adela and First Graham, canon characters in the novel The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley. The stories about Arthur are post-canon. He has used the time machine in the novel to go one hundred years in the past to beg for the future, now suffering from climate change. He is known as the "Diplomat" by the people who assist him in this task. He is about 72 years old in this story. It is the present day.
The name that Arthur Gore uses in the past is Arthur Lewis. Going through the time machine has given him a duality. But, we don't see much of "Captain Gore" in this story. Arthur marries into a large Persian family. His wife is Pari Rahmani and she is a widow. Her husband died in a mysterious car accident and deep inside Arthur is a police detective who believes that there is a mystery to be solved. There are many original characters in this story. If the cast becomes confusing, please ask a question in the comments.
