Summary
Merlin watched countless wars rack the planet, massacre after massacre and still Arthur did not return. But an eternity changes a man. And Merlin will wait no longer. He will take what he is owed, whatever it takes.
“I lost you once, because of them.” Merlin looked over Arthur’s shoulder at the still forms of the dead. “I came to save the future.” He turned back to Arthur, a smile on his face.
But Arthur did not smile back. He still did not understand. “Arthur?” Merlin asked, worry in his eyes.
“Did you?” Arthur asked, finally looking Merlin in the eyes. “Did you save it?”
“What do you mean?” He frowned.
