I LOVE THIS ONE!!
A 13-year old Jason goes out on his own and winds up concussed and dragged before Deathstroke (uh-oh), but some comments he hears about Slade and "young Robins" trigger alarms, and activate his Protective Little Brother Mode. Deathstroke just calls Nightwing in with amusement to collect his wayward brother, who's feral with rage and just wants to protect Dick from this monster. (And he swears he will do exactly that once he grows bigger.)
Cut forward to a 17-year old early-stages Red Hood who crosses paths with Deathstroke on a business deal and overhears goons talking about Deathstroke only being in town for Nightwing, and their assumptions over what fucked up situation's going on there. Cue Kill Bill sirens. Slade handles it, but Red Hood lets something slip in his protective rage and Slade has a suspicion and goes straight to Dick's apartment to ask about Red Hood--who busts into the apartment mid-conversation, horrified to see them sitting casually on the couch with takeout on the table and Dick in nothing but a pair of sweats (he just got in as Nightwing and figured he might as well be comfy if he had to listen to whatever Slade dropped in to tell him). HILARIOUS as Red Hood freaks out over Slade's presence and keeps trying to protect a very confused Dick from him, then really emotional as Slade starts to prod the conversation into an eventual angsty, sad, and heartwarming revelation and reunion for the brothers.
