It’s surreal that she’s going home. Arm in a sling, face stitched up. The doctor prescribed her painkillers and a nurse showed her how to shower without getting the cast wet. What they couldn’t tell her is how to stop replaying the attack on an endless loop in her head, flashes of darkness and terror as soon as she closes her eyes.
