Summary
The faces of the people are still clear in his mind as he closes his eyes and lies back, all turning to him, no matter where they go in the endless wasteland of mountains and valleys below. The grief and lost, dead emotions in their stares, and the way they looked at him with their hands covering their faces, and the way they sobbed and cried as if crying would somehow ease the pain from those comforting, warm arms.
The destruction is over, so are the lives that were lost, and yet this place still bears the stench of everything that once was, and the death of his mother is still as sore in his mind as it was thirty-two years ago.
A subplot for Chapter 309, sprinkled with a pinch of narrative tweaks. TXJ and several others survive the calamity. Featuring ten years of longing, with themes revolving on forgiveness and letting go.
