It’s like being handed a gun after it’s used to kill someone. Never wanting to pull the trigger but never being able to take your finger off of it.
Ketterdam is already dangerous enough for four undercover Grisha soldiers on a rescue mission. But it’s also very, very dark. Dark enough to make Virgil scared, of the city and of himself.
Then add their ridiculous rescue mission, Patton’s developing crush on Logan, Logan’s growing feud with their best lead, who happens to be partnered with Roman’s long-lost and newly-reunited twin brother who seems equally miserable and relieved at seeing him again…
Virgil can’t wait to get back to Ravka. But maybe after all the secrets have come out… maybe Ketterdam’s not quite as dark anymore.
