“. . . "Techno, how did the recording go for you?" Dream asks through a disrespectful mouthful of whatever he ordered.
"Your apparent lack of manners is the most shameful thing I've seen." He grunts instead, spoken in Piglin so nobody would understand.
At least that's what he thinks until Sapnap snorts, covers his mouth as he turns away to salvage any respect he has left for the conversation.
"Sapnap why are you laughing, what did he say?" Techno turns to Sapnap who still has not quite yet recovered from his spontaneous fit of laughter. Techno still isn't fully convinced he knows, he thinks Sapnap might be laughing because Piglin speech sounds funny to the common ear.
"He called you disgusting and lacking manners! That's hilarious, I've been insulting you for years like this, too!"
It shocks him to silence, he can't find words in that moment - hearing his first language spoken back to him clear as day is about the most confusing thing Techno has had to deal with in a conversation with someone.

Despite all that, Techno still isn’t good at making friends.
And, although Sapnap knows and respects that, he’s still always trying to grow Techno’s friend list. So, that’s how Techno finds himself in some horribly-fancy restaurant, dressed in clothes that he honestly wears every single dayーplus some more jewelry, because Sapnap had once said that the gold compliments his hair nicely, and apparently Techno cares more about first impressions than he thoughtー,and sipping water that probably costs more than his tuition alone, waiting for "The Meeting of the Century," as Sapnap dubbed it.
In all honesty, it isn’t the crazy, once in a lifetime, never-been-seen-before event that Sapnap thinks it’s going to be. Techno is simply going to be meeting the elusive Dream, the man that every single one of Techno’s new friends is friends with, and who is apparently so busy that he can never make it to the same hangout sessions that Techno goes to.
Or: Techno gets a best friend, a boyfriend, and a rival all in his first year of college, and then later confuses Phil as to how those three titles only belong to two people.
