Summary
20XX, the peak of Mt. Ebott. Several monsters emerged from a massive, hidden network of caves known as the Underground. The first few glance at a world that could have been, Frisk thought, hoping their soul would not allow another do-over. They wanted this to be over, as much as any other creature would, were they to know what truly happened all this time, or better yet, all these times.
Frisk just had to go back. Talk with everyone one more time before their soul would fade, and as a result, this world too would meet its demise. A world darker than darkness, where nobody can be found. Unless..
This is my take on what happened such that the world of Undertale became the world of Deltarune.
