The ads were posted everywhere, and Roman had even thought about adopting faemself. However, as faer dreams come crashing down around faem fae searches out another option: volunteering to be one of the MiniMe Companions. However, upon faer arrival to the MiniMe facility as a new Companion fae meets Virgil, another Companion that firmly regrets his decision to volunteer, especially since he’s been stuck in their little glass cubby for the past year.
As days pass with Virgil, Roman doesn't truly understand how he could be so weary. Then fae meets Janus, the person meant to take faem home, and faer world view flips as the gravity of faer decision sets in. Little does fae know faer twin (and squirt new friend) is searching for faem, trying to get faem out of the situation fae put faemself in. If only fae knew who Janus truly was.

Thomas has never dealt with anything this intense before. He's heard of depression of course, and has even met a few people who have told him about their own experiences with the illness, but he himself has never experienced the terrible sickness.
Until now. At first, it came subtle. He got a little less excited about things that would normally thrill him, had less energy to do the things he wanted to do...
His sides had noticed the change. Patton, Roman, and Logan had even been losing their ability to influence him, along with their ability to speak to him directly.
It happened the day after he first answered wrong. He knew it was the wrong answer. One of his friends had asked him if he was alright. They'd noticed him acting weird and they were worried. "Yeah, I’m great! Just… tired, I guess…”
The next morning was when the sides discovered the true extent of what this illness did to a person's mind. What it did to their thought process. To their emotions. To their sense of wonder. The only thing it didn't seem to diminish was Thomas's anxiety... -

In this story Patton, Roman, and Logan are all certain types of combatants that fight off unstable emotions/traits in order to keep Thomas from developing bad behavior and injuring himself. Virgil a newbie in training and isn't fully seen as a team player mainly by Roman and Logan. Patton is the only one on his side whenever he is feeling pressured.
Virgil’s secret of his ability to grow when his emotional core goes out of control has been revealed which is only a characteristic of the Dark Sides. Thus, Virgil finds himself in a dangerous situation that only his friends can help him out of, but first he needs to trust them.
Yet, why do the Dark Sides exist and why is Virgil so different from them? What truth is hiding just out of reach?
