The water from the hot spring helps. He watches a purple and yellow bird streak against the impossibly blue sky and leans against the bank. The water soothes the pain in his feet and his lower back, loosens the hunch he's been keeping to avoid getting hit with wayward branches. It smells clean- cleaner than any river or town well Miguel's washed up in. He could live here forever, exploring this new world with Tulio.
