Summary
The smallfolk have invented all sorts of tales regarding the Targaryen Family during the almost three centuries they have ruled Westeros. They say that during red blood nights they transform into mighty dragons, that their bodies don't burn and they can breathe fire, they can even summon dragons right from the sky, and in the highest chamber inside the keep made by the Cruel resides their immortal matriarch who directs them all.
Most of them are just folkloric tales, they hold no more veracity than those of a wooden witch hidden in the nearby swamp. However, in those tales, we can always see reflections of the truth.
