Summary
He shouldn't have been there, he knew that, but no one would be able to stop him even if he tried. Ever since Damian had left Gotham and joined his grandfather to follow his cause, no one had been able to keep in touch with him. No one except Jon.
Damian had always been good at going off the radar and not being found. Anyone knew that, and being able to pinpoint Ra's Al Ghul's true location - especially since most of his secret bases had been stormed by Batman - would have been a titanic feat if Jon hadn't known Damian's heartbeat so well. All he had had to do was close his eyes and tune in to it before flying from Metropolis to Tibet in less than five minutes, leaving a sonic boom behind him.Series

Summary
Phainon stepped in, his shoulders hunched, the scent of cigarette smoke and liquor hanging off his clothes like a coat of its own. His gait was unsteady, his hair mussed, and his shirt half-tucked and wrinkled. He looked tired, weathered, but—more than anything—he looked real. Immediate. Solid in a way Mydei never managed to be.
His oldest son was the first to move, slipping off the couch to meet him at the door. Phainon let out a slow breath, patted the boy on the head, and ruffled his hair in a way that made the boy grin, despite himself.
“Did you bring anything?” one of the daughters asked, half-playful, half-hopeful.
Phainon let the plastic bag slide from his hand to the floor. Inside were a few crumpled snack packages and a can of something sweet. The younger kids swarmed it instantly, tearing it open without asking. He didn’t stop them. Instead, he chuckled—low and slurred—and leaned against the doorframe as if the house itself was tipping.
