Unconsciously, Celine begins to hum. Something long forgotten in all but melody.
The Honmoon reacts. Little flickers of it visible within its weak state. Coasting along on whatever fans the Sunlight Sisters still had. Weakening further the longer Celine stayed out of the spotlight.
"Honmoon," Rumi murmurs, eyes tracking the bobbing movements as it passes about the room.
It still surprises Celine that she can see it. That there hasn't really been a time in Rumi's life where she couldn't see the Honmoon.
"Do you remember what I told you about the Honmoon?" Celine asks, watching as it begins to fade once her humming stops.
"That it protects us?"
"Yes." She pulls Rumi closer to her. Lips just barely ghosting her purple braid. "From the demons."
"Demons," Rumi repeats. It's almost a gasp. "We don't like the demons."
"No, Rumi." There's a soft blue from beneath Rumi's sleep shirt. "We don't."

The aftermath is quiet. When their feet touch back down to the Namsan Tower stage and the bright sunlight cast as they formed new honmoon fades away, night reclaiming Seoul, Rumi doesn't hear the thousands upon thousands of fans surrounding them. She doesn't hear much of anything. She doesn't feel much of anything. It's like her world has narrowed to her hands, and Zoey and Mira's hands clasped in them. But even that feels barely there. She's barely there.
They won. Now they have all the time in the world to pick up the pieces. And for Rumi to learn how to live a life that isn't just waiting to die.
Can definitely be read with the girls as just friends, but if whim carries me to keep this fic going longer than just a few chapters, it could very easily turn into Polytrix.I just think they could really love each other when those walls come down ;)UPDATE: it'll take a bit but we are in fact headed towards Polytrix before this fic ends cuz I NEED IT.
