AU was right after Cass stole the moonstone and betrayed everyone she stopped by Corona to collect some of her stuff only to find it conquered. Upon seeing how Andrew was treating Varian, she made a deal. His life or the kid. Andrew decided he wanted to stay alive and she took Varian along with his alchemy.
Aka Varian gets surprised adopted and Cass becomes his big sister. Evil shenanigans ensue.
