Summary
It is the year 3441 of the Second Age. The Siege of Barad-dûr has dragged on for seven years, with the forces of the Last Alliance unable to force the gates nor draw Sauron out. Desperate for a turning point, Gil-Galad and Elendil send Isildur, Elrond, and Gildor to rally the remaining free forces of Middle-earth, in a last attempt that would end the stalemate and ensure either victory or total defeat.
This is the third edition of the classic story by Brian K. Crawford, originally started in 1976 and completed in 1994. It cintains an additional six chapters from my novella Valandil, so it represents 49 years of effort.
