What if, post-saving the world from certain ruin, things don't slot back into place quite as smoothly as the movie has led us to believe? Rumi has disappeared into herself, Mira is too afraid to find out why and Zoey can’t figure out how to be the thing that either of them needs. Maybe a multi-day trek through the mountains will help them sort through their issues. Then again, maybe not.

“No, it’s alright,” Celine says in her all-too-calm tone. “It’s time you both know the truth.”
Celine stands.
“Rumi is the product of a union between a human and demon. I was able to perform an operation to remove the demon from Rumi’s body, so I could finally kill it. Except, there was a slight miscalculation on my part. That is, this demon cannot die by mortal instruments, which is why I summoned the both of you.”
Celine gives them a measuring glance.
“I need you to perform one of the most important hunts of your lifetime. Kill the demon that’s been inhabiting Rumi’s body and free her from the patterns. You will have my eternal gratitude for correcting this mistake that should have never happened. Rumi can finally be free.”

Summary
In hindsight, it should have been obvious. The way Rumi refused to go to the bathhouse, her bizarre relationship with Celine, this whole thing with the Saja Boys? Mira prided herself on reading people, and she felt stupid for not seeing it sooner. The pieces were all there, just waiting to be put together.
Rumi was gay.
The night after the joint signing with the Saja Boys, Mira went to confront Rumi about her ongoing weird behavior. Instead of letting hurt feelings drive the conversation, Mira took a minute to try and figure out what might be wrong. Unfortunately, she came to the completely wrong conclusion.
Misunderstandings ensue. They talk it out.

Summary
She is the dog that bites when a hand extends itself to feed, the dog that is wrong down to its very bones, down to the marrow, down to something genetic and intrinsic and unchangeable, the dog they put down to spare it its own misery.
She wishes it were as simple as a matter of guilt. Guilt for hurting them, for hiding, for lying, because maybe she could’ve fixed that, because guilt, at least, would’ve meant that she’s only done something wrong.
Shame is knowing that she is something wrong.
