They were both wanting a grandparent figure to be in their children’s lives and both Logan and Charles didn’t have any living parents. So it fell on Erik. Six months in, it felt like the right time to start slowly introducing both of his partners to his mother. They had all been in enough relationships that they knew if it would last long-term, old enough to make decisions for themselves. For fuck’s sake, they were all parents with school-aged children—minus Nina who was only three. Erik’s oldest were pre-teens after all. He really shouldn’t be so nervous about this.
Still, he was left just praying they all made it out alive. Though Erik wasn’t sure who a prayer like that would go to.

Charles and Erik have a fight and Erik walks out and to the woods to calm down. Someone attacks him out of nowhere and kidnaps him. It takes some time and Logan for Charles to realise that he's missing. Meanwhile, Erik is suffering at the hands of an old foe.
There are some fighting scenes in the next chapters but I don't think they are graphic enough for me to use the ao3 warning.
