A rising dawn looks the same as a creeping sunset from a certain angle, but it has been ages and ages since he’s been in any position to know. These days, his nights are only marked from one another by the differing tastes of blood on his tongue, and sometimes it’s so pedantic that he’s bored out of his fucking skull. He likes to take his time with his victims, likes to keep them satiated and blissed out on his bite, euphoric and as clueless as Bambi’s mother before a shotgun barrel. It's a little well-known fact that a vampire’s bite makes people feel pure ecstasy. Makes the victims go down smooth, makes their last breaths a land of paradise, their blood tasting less of bitter adrenaline and rancid fear. An unfair mutual exchange, perhaps, a life-shattering orgasm for a life-ending bite.

Qimir always moved so elegantly until he shifted into brutal violence in a blink of an eye. He could kill any man or woman in this room, even perhaps Osha’s uncle. It would be an impressive fight, no doubt. Osha isn’t under the delusion that she could take Qimir in a hand to hand fight, but she has an advantage to exploit — their old sordid history. Her uncle, on the other hand, if he fully committed to the act, he could probably kill Qimir. But three times out of five, Osha suspects Qimir would come out on top.
Strange thing to think upon seeing her ex-fiancé after six years, but it lingers in her mind just from the way he moves through the church. Muscles coiled tight with tension, poised and ready to strike. He’s the next leader of the Rwoh crime syndicate for a reason. It comes with expectations and violent realities, and she’s sure he’s shaped up to fit it with brutal efficiency.

The odds are not in our favour today. It’s one last reminder of The Capitol’s cruelty having no end. In The Dark Days they say, brother turned on brother, friend on friend. How poetic for them to be able to replicate just that for their games.
