He hadn’t even spent two weeks back in Brooklyn before he got the text; not from Sam, no, from Sarah, which made this whole situation all the more hilarious.
“Hey Bucky, I really hate to ask you for yet another favor after all you’ve done for my family, but my stubborn jackass of a brother got himself real sick with a bad cold somehow and I just don’t have the time to take care of both him and the boys. Would you mind maybe coming back down here to stay and watch over him for a bit? I think you’re the only other person he’d let see him like this.”
He smirked to himself as he saw Sarah’s text; it was timestamped at 6:47 AM, probably sent out of exasperation while trying to get the boys ready for school and also having to deal with taking care of Sam. The thought of Sam Wilson, the famous Falcon and now the brand new Captain America, lying helpless and miserable in bed was admittedly a little funny. He was probably wrapped up in a bunch of blankets right now with a bulky ice bag sitting atop his head and a thermometer sticking out of his mouth. It really was comical when he thought about it.
“No worries, Sarah. I can come help out.”

Summary
He’s in a private hospital room- one in the military hospital back on base, if he had to guess. There’s an IV in his elbow, and a heart monitor, and a whole host of other machines that he can’t quite get a look at from here. There’s a single, tiny window in the corner, though any light passing through it is dimmed by closely-drawn blinds. And by the bedside there’s Bucky, slumped in a cramped plastic chair, his arms folded. He’s glaring at the heart monitor’s screen with narrowed eyes. He doesn’t seem to notice Sam at all.
“Morning, sunshine,” Sam tries to say. What he manages is more of a rough, hacking cough. Bucky snaps to attention like he’s just been administered an electric shock. Sam is half-surprised that he doesn’t leap out of his chair.

Summary
Sam sat on the far end, elbow resting on the armrest, socked foot pulled up onto the cushion. Bucky had wedged himself between the couch and the coffee table, back against the couch, his head resting near Sam’s knee. Not quite touching. But close. A mug balanced between his hands, steam curling up toward the ceiling fan.
On screen, something exploded. Probably a war movie. Probably not one either of them actually liked, if the glassy, half-bored looks on their faces were any indication. Then Sam reached down. Barely looking, hand dropping into Bucky’s space. Bucky didn’t even blink. Just leaned a fraction to the side, enough for Sam to tug the elastic band out of his hair.
Sarah’s mouth tightened. That’s suspicious. That’s weird.

Summary
A couple months after the Flag Smashers mission, Bucky's now answering Sam's calls and texts (fostering relationships, Doc!). One call, in particular, finds Bucky returning to Delacroix for what's possibly his most daunting mission yet: helping Sam fix up a run-down, piece-of-shit foreclosure he recently purchased. Bucky doesn't know the first thing about home repairs or confronting his feelings but he does know how to move heavy things, so...that's something.

He sucks on his teeth for a moment, roughly picks up his duffel, and slings it over his shoulder as he storms past Cas in the doorway with a bite of, “Go get in the damn car,”.
(TLDR: Cas is rescued from the empty, human. Dean wants to stop hunting because he loves Cas, but can't figure out how to let himself; however, he doesn't want Cas to hunt either, because he loves him. Conflict, angstiness, and love ensues.)

"Probably not," Logan says, something in his spine still shaking even now, and Wade looks at him with those huge dark eyes that look--hurt, maybe, heartbroken, and Logan knows he has to get up and leave before he can't.
Each step is agony increasing, the thing in his spine trembling ever-harder and then Wade calls his name and he stops, turns, sees those eyes again; pleading, desperate.
A rush of emotion slams into his hindbrain, it feels half foreign and half his own; don't do this can't do this without you please stay please stay stay stay stay let me stay stay stay
"Come home with me," Wade blurts out, and Logan finds that he's taken steps toward Wade without realizing it, closing the yawning gap between them, and the thing in his spine relaxes just a little.
"Okay," he says.
